De Viersprong seeks to promote the mental health of people with severe personality disorders and behavioral problems by (1) providing diagnostic and treatment services, (2) conducting scientific research, (3) developing new treatments or adapting existing programs to new target populations, (4) disseminating knowledge, and (5) delivering quality assurance systems.
De Viersprong is a highly specialized institute for mental health care where patients are referred to nationwide. Treatment services include outpatient, day hospital and inpatient psychotherapy. The predominant methods used are Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT), Schema Therapy (ST), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Transactional Analysis (TA), Multisystemic Therapy (MST) and Functional Family Therapy (FFT).
The majority of patients have a long history of severe (psychiatric) symptoms and problems whereby previous treatments were often unsuccessful. De Viersprong aims to achieve sustainable client recovery with innovative and proven cost-effective treatments.
